Sunday Run

Met Nickiechickie at 8am for a run down by the creek. Very nice! Many bugs but we spray ourselves good so they didn't get us.

My Garmin was misbehaving. As we started running it said my heart rate was 89. Ya right. Later it got as low as 48. Stupid thing. Nickiechickie kept track of the 10 & 1s. Not only is the heart rate part malfunctioning, it is not communicating with my computer and the battery went from 100% to 77% in just one run. Ug.

We ran 8kms in 65:05. Not too bad. I can honestly say even though I didn't know my heart rate I was putting in a good effort.

Cool part of the run, when we were almost back to the cars we saw a group of elite looking runners coming at us. All of the sudden we hear a happy yelling and there was out long lost running buddy Carolyn who we have not seen in forever. She is one of the original 8 running friends that met in 2001. Some of us have been sidetracked by kids but Carolyn had already had her kids and has gone on to marathons and Ironmans just like Hazel. She looked really awesome.

My kids are being so grouchy. They were up way past their bedtime on Friday and then we had them out all day yesterday dealing with buying a car. (peeps that know me we are changing out both our vehicles for something different all together, radical!) Hopefully their behavior will improve because right now they are 'ellions!

what an awesome run!! could your heart rate monitor have been too low? or maybe you need to moisten the sensors before you put it on.....in anycase - you clearly rocked it!

Sounds like an awesome run. Maybe you're not holding your mouth just right when you put the Garmin on. You know, just stick your tongue out the corner of your mouth and make a real mean face. That aughta get it goin'. :o)
