Early post

Hey, I'm early for May

Spring is trying really hard to exert itself. Lets face it, by the time it gets here it will be almost summer.

Went for a quick 4 days to visit family in Ont. Also got to visit my friend Steph. I drove to her hometown and we had an awesome Italian dinner and then went out to a pub for a bit. I was driving my Dad's truck and managed to get myself pulled over neat the outskirts of town. I was trying to figure out how to get the brights on when I got pulled over. Turns out I didn't have any lights on at all. I was really glad I had said no to all alcoholic drinks. Phewsh!

Still need to get into some sort of exercise routine. I seem to come home from work so tired. Of course my husband tells me I wouldn't be so tired if I would exercise... Kind of a chicken and egg problem.

At least the cold snow and ice of winter have gone. No reason not to get outside more!

Oops, I missed March!

So its now April. We are into Spring here but winter is apparently coming for another visit this week.

I am much more chipper. I had some serious winter blues going on there this winter. Bleh!

Kids hockey season is over, it is spring-ish. Yahoos all around.

For the past 3 nights after dinner the kids and I have gone off for a bike ride. Fun! The kids have gotten a big kick out of the giant puddles covering the pathway. It seems the biggest puddle is getting smaller though.

In other news we splurged and bought a treadmill last week. The kids like it. Don't worry internet-worrywarts. They are fully supervised etc. etc.

My almost 8 year old can run at 6.5 mph for 5 minutes. Oh to be 8 years old and fit. That is pretty darn fast. He could probably go faster but due to safety considerations I've told him that he is not allowed to go faster.

So, it is 9:36 at night. Usually I would go to bed but instead I'm going to go burn some calories on the treadmill. I'm walking on an incline. Starting slow so I can go the long haul. As much as I would love to run straight out of the gate I'm pushing 40 and the old joints just arn't what they used to be!

Oh ya, did I remember to mention that I have been working full time hours since November? Well the jig is up, it was either accept a permanent position or hit the highway. As tempting as it was to be a trophy wife (ha! ya right) I signed the papers and its effective May 1st.

Having double benefits, paid vacation and sick days, a savings plan, bonus etc. might not be such a bad thing. Still have a bit of mommy guilt though. Shouldn't I be spending more time with my children instead of slaving away for more moneymoneymoney??? Be quiet, that's a rhetorical question!!! :)
