my personal trainer said that she thought I might have the same thing wrong with my knee! Too bad I have to run 10k @ Melissa's in a couple of weeks!!
Weird that you have the same thing. That makes me think it is pretty common. Good luck at Melissa's. Injuries suck!

How about the Run for a Cure? You could walk with a bit of running? That would be a small goal.
My sister has organized a team in honour of her friend (40 years old) who is currently in treatment right now. The team is going to be walking. I'm going to walk too. Until this knee is fixed I am not running for a minute. Can't mess with the joints! Will you be running? Want to join the team? Let me know.

Hello - Sept. 8, 2010
Hello blog!
Gee I have been neglectful again. Shame on me. I forget where I left off. I got to see two of my friends while on vacation. Yay! My one friend is a physio and I told her about my knee issues. She thinks that my thigh muscle that attaches to the inside top of my knee is misbehaving. She told me some work to do for that and agreed that I should not be running at all until I get that muscle sorted out. She thinks that since that muscle is so weak that my knee cap is not tracking properly and that is what is causing my pain. I have not been the best at doing what she told me to do though. Quelle surprise! ;)
School has started up for the kiddies and I am trying to get into some sort of routine. I need routine! Sometimes I really want to quit my job and have my job be "working out". That is not really reasonable at this point though so I need to suck it up and get my 20 hours of work in per week. Wah wah wah. I'm such a crybaby!
So, without being able to run: I plan on using the elliptical, riding my bike inside and possibly swimming. However, it will be an effort to get to a pool. Again, wah wah wah. I still don't have a treadmill. I bought new carpet and a new washer and dryer instead. What was I thinking???? Walking at incline on a treadmill would be great right now.
I don't have any big plans or goals. Until this knee business sorts out I am kind of on the sidelines. However, the idea was tossed around of going to do a half ironman in June and just walking the run portion. I'm a little gun shy seeing as how I signed up for it 2 (or 3) years ago and then bailed. It might be a good idea though. I do need a goal to work towards. Swim, bike then a long walk possibly with a friend? Might be an idea... Might be cool to train really well for the bike part and do great at that at least.
