I've abandoned my blog(s) for 2 weeks. Sorry about that to anyone who is following along. My lack of posting does not mean that I have not been exercising. However right now I am struggling to find balance in my life. My young offspring (particularly the boy) have caused a bit of grief this week. (notes home from both son's regular teacher and his gym teacher) and I am finding myself exausted by 8pm. I need some sort of recharge or maybe a super-nanny.
I still struggle with having "extra" pounds even though I exercise. I know the only way to lose them for good is to remedy my eating. The problem with my eating is lack of food preparation and at some points even lack of shopping for food at all. This leads to eating what I can get quick like bread and crackers. Until I make food creation a priority I won't be getting anywhere. I know what the problem is. The struggle seems to be to fix it. Perhaps a way to do that would be to make it the priority. Food prep first, then other things. For sure I can find some extra time by clicking less (less time scrolling aimlessly on the interwebs and even cutting out watching supportive YT videos). Less Internet sounds like a no brainer but when the choice is between cook food or exercise, maybe I should pick cooking. (oh joy!)
Anyways... hope all is well with you people! Hope you are getting in all the exercise that you want to be doing. Personally I am glad to be on this side of December 21st. It seems there is more sunshine in the evenings. It isn't entirely dark when I get home from work. Yippeee!

Wednesday
I know at least one person is anxiously waiting to find out what I did yesterday. Right Fatinah? hahaha.
Anyways... I called up the husband from work and suggested that we leave work at 4 (early for me) and go for a run before picking up the children from daycare. (what horrible parents we are!).
He says. "I'm not scheduled to run today". I say: "Uh, does running with me really 'count' as running?". Him: "Oh right, OK".
Unfortunately, he had some meeting in which he found out some mistake had possibly been made and therefore had to work late.
So... I snailed home in traffic, bought some Subway for dinner and did not go running.
However, in the back of my mind I remembered that the bloggerettes (and bloggers) would have read that I said I would do something. So I procrastinated until 9:45pm and then did 44 minutes on the Elliptical while watching an episode of Heroes. Thank god for TV. I really miss exercising with real live humans though.

Workout Recaps Fri - Tues.
Friday - Thursday's bike class ran me over like a truck even though I was trying to keep it at an easy level. On Friday my knee to my hip hurt (joints and muscle) on my right leg so I took it as as rest day.
Saturday - I chose going grocery shopping over exercise during the only window I had for doing either. The house was almost completely bare of food. The rest of the day I was away from home for 24hours supervising an overnight pass. I could not leave that person alone so therefore no exercising on Saturday.
Sunday - The weather was gorgeous and I ran outside for 20 minutes. I'm going to start increasing my time. 20 minutes is easy peasy.
Monday - 1 hour personal training including 2K run on treadmill at start.
Tuesday - Had time to workout in evening after kids went to bed. Instead worked on my accounting for my business which should have been done in November. Need to get that off my back. Yikes!
Wednesday - What will I do today? Doing nothing is not an option. I will do something.

So ya, sorry for the confusion. I have only been journalling my food for a week, not a year! I'll go fix that right now!!! Doh!

Sunday – Thursday Recap
Sunday: did 49 minutes easy on the Elliptical at home. 503 cals.
Monday: no exercise (only got 3 hours sleep because I was up all night doing a spreadsheet for my kid’s school milk order. I had done it previously during normal daylight hours but the night before it was due I discovered all my work was kaput!)
Tuesday – 20 minute run outside. -13, snow but for 20 minutes a person can suck that up you know? I ran on the road so as not to break an ankle on sidewalks that were not shoveled.
Wednesday: zip
Thursday: Going back to my spin class tonight. It will be 1.5 hours long including a warmup at the beginning. It is going to be challenging because I have missed almost every one for 2 months (mostly due to caring for my mother)
2010 Workout Stats:
Bike workouts: 2

2010 - Run #1
First run done for 2010. Pleasantly surprised that even after almost 2 months off from running I can still run 20 minutes continuous.
For now my goal will be to get back to running 3 times a week for at least 20 minutes then I will make some sort of plan from there.
According to Heart Rate Monitor:
323 cals.
166 bpm avg
177 pbm max
20 minutes

New Years Day Mojo
OK. One (easy) workout done. 44 minutes on the Elliptical. Why easy? Well, I am after burning calories and I am trying to take it easy on my joints so I can do more days in a row etc. Why 44 minutes? Because that is the length of a TV show without commercials silly! I have started watching the show "Fringe". It reminds me a lot of the x files but it does get a bit graphic at times so if you can't stomach that then you would not like it. Right now I am watching season 1 and have watched 2 episodes.
I am hoping it is going to warm up for a New Years Day run outside. Right now it is still too frickin cold.
I joined a challenge on YT. The challenge is to have scale and non-scale victories. Pretty simple. It goes until March 1st. I said I was challenging myself to lose some inches. Specifically I want to lose some inches off my hips and waist. Of course I have plenty of pounds that I can 'afford' to lose. That goes without saying. I am not motivated by scale goals though so I am steering far far away from scale goals. (the macro goal of course would be to weigh less, however the number is irrelevant)
Oh ya, before I did the Elliptical I had actually hopped on my bike trainer. However, not sure if it is because my bike had been out in the freezing cold garage or if I put it on the trainer wrong but I popped my tire's inner tube so that was the end of that. I need to get back on the bike soon though. With the stress of things with my mom I missed WAY too many bike classes and I might just die when I go back next week.
2010 Stats:
Elliptical workouts: 1
Days worked out: 1
