May + June

Busy is...

2 months
2 kids
1 job
14 swimming lessons
27 soccer games
14 t-ball games
7 kids birthday parties
4 playdates

Thankfully it is at an end. Time to find myself again. Excercise has been almost non-existant. It is funny how fast you can revert to sloth-dom if you are not careful.

Run #3 of 3 done

OK, just in case you were thinking of taking your 4 year old along on her bike on your next run... Don't do that!

I thought she could handle it. Flat ground. Me running one minute, walking one minute for a total of 20 minutes.

I went 'out' 14 minutes (ie. 4 minutes past what would be half way to allow for some extra walking at the end). At 18 minutes we were about a kilometer away from the car when Little Miss 4 year old decided she was done with biking and she was not getting back on. Argh! ( I did enjoy the first 14 minutes though)

Anyways... I bet it would work better with the 6 year old. He can roller blade like the dickens and also would last longer on his bike. I will try that out sometime. Right now he is a limp noodle on the couch with a fever. Considering he was very sick with similar symptoms 4 weeks ago I am trying not to worry.

So in summary: I got my third run done. *phewsh*!

Hazel: are we going to move on to 2 & 1's or do another week of 1 &1s.

Thanks for checking in bloggers!

Run # 2 Done

OK. So I made a deal with Hazel that I would run 3 times by the end of Sunday. As I was running out of days I headed out tonight even though the weather was ridiculous.

It went quite well. Does anyone else (who is currently not a running machine) want to join us in our correspondence course of running?

Here is the plan. Hazel and I are doing 1 & 1s (which technically is week 2). Our commitment is to run 3 times a week working our way up to 5K and beyond.

Paging Nicole, Nicole, paging Nicole! I am willing to repeat this week to get you on board! How about you Annie?

OK. Get back to me!

Seabreeze: You left a comment a few posts back about a virtual run date but it was addressed to Fatinah so I was a little confused. Anywhoo.... didn't want you to think I was ignoring you.

A Hazel Intervention Moment

So, Hazel called me up at work. We ended up meeting for a quick visit outside of her office building.

We decided rather than joining a Running Room clinic that we would do it by 'correspondence'. For you youngsters: before they had this thing called the Internet you could take courses by mail and it was called taking it by correspondence.

Anyways. We agreed to start in week 1 of run 1 minute, walk 1 minute for a total of 20 minutes.

We promised to do it 3 times by the end of Sunday.

At 8:30pm I decided it would be a better idea to catch up on some sleep. However, my plans were twarted by my 'conscience' AKA husband we taunted me out of bed and into my running shoes.

So, I did my first set of 1&1s followed by a chaser of a 15 minute walk.

Nicole: You should follow along with us. What's stopping you?
